Project summary
At the edge of the pine forest in Monteverdi, this villa marks the threshold between cultivation and wilderness. The building's plan follows the edge of the tree line — stepping and turning in response to the trunks that define the boundary — so that from inside, every room is in direct dialogue with the forest.
The materiality is deliberately raw: concrete, stone, and dark steel that will age alongside the pines rather than against them. Patina is not a failure but a destination.
It is a house that knows it is a guest in someone else's landscape — and behaves accordingly.
