Project summary
Extending a Beirut palace is an exercise in spatial intelligence within severe constraints. This intervention opens the existing plan to light and air with precise, surgical moves — a new opening here, a reconfigured threshold there — transforming a closed, compartmentalized urban residence into a continuous spatial sequence that breathes.
The new layer is discreet in its presence but transformative in its effect. Nothing unnecessary was added; nothing that already worked was touched.
It is a demonstration that the most ambitious architecture is sometimes the most restrained.
