Project summary
Rehabilitation is an act of respect — and this project treats the existing chalet not as a problem to be solved but as a story to be continued. The original fabric is preserved where it speaks clearly and transformed where it had fallen silent.
New interventions read as distinct layers that acknowledge what came before without disappearing into it. Stone remains stone; what is added in concrete and glass declares itself honestly.
The result is a building with two ages, neither of which apologizes for the other — a dialogue across time that enriches both voices.
What was closed becomes open! What was inside becomes outside!! This intervention transforms a standard villa into a homy space designed around a new wooden void acting as the main heart.
