In the flat immensity of the desert, this house operates as a frame — a precise instrument for editing the landscape into inhabitable images. Walls rise not to enclose but to direct, turning the undifferentiated horizon into a series of curated encounters between interior life and the vastness outside.
The courtyard, at the heart of the composition, draws the sky downward and brings nature inside the perimeter, creating a microclimate within a climate. Each room is oriented around a specific quality of light, a particular moment of shade, a deliberate relationship with the ground plane.
It is a house that teaches its inhabitants to see the desert differently — as a landscape to be read, not merely endured.
