On the edge of the Gulf, where the water meets a sky of infinite flatness, this beach house is composed as a series of horizontal planes that reach toward the sea. The architecture resists the temptation to ornament a landscape that needs none.
Shade and breeze are design materials as much as concrete and glass. Each space is oriented around a specific quality of coastal experience — the oblique morning light, the dense afternoon heat, the cool release of evening over water
The house is oriented entirely around the act of looking out — a dwelling that exists, above all, in service of the horizon.
