Project summary
Elastic modulus.
Stress and strains applied to concrete veils, tame the Saudi desert, by offering a welcome protection that extends following the path of the sun.
The shadow effect obtained sets a different scene in each space.
At altitude in the Taef highlands, this farm compound is organized as a landscape-scale composition — a series of pavilions, courts, and pathways arranged around the natural topography of the site. Each element of the program finds its own building.
Connected by covered walkways and open gardens, movement across the estate becomes a spatial experience in itself: a promenade through agriculture, hospitality, and residence, each activity granted its own architectural expression while contributing to the coherence of the whole.
The estate is both a functional farm and a work of landscape architecture — two ambitions pursued simultaneously, without compromise to either.
