Terraced Between Sky and Stone - HM VILLA - BAABDA - LEBANON

Project summary

The project aims to respond sensitively to its topography and surroundings, blending the building seamlessly into the site while preserving the natural character of the hill. At the same time, the design prioritizes privacy, carefully orienting spaces and openings to frame views toward the greenery while limiting visual exposure to adjacent properties.

An open-air patio is introduced as a central spatial element, directly connected to the surrounding interior spaces to enhance natural ventilation and environmental comfort. Acting as an intermediate zone between inside and outside, the patio facilitates continuous airflow while allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the plan. This seamless physical and visual connection with the exterior reinforces the relationship between architecture and landscape, creating adaptable living spaces that are both climatically responsive and spatially integrated.

The terraced configuration of the lot allows each floor to open onto its own exterior green space, responding to the natural slope while strengthening the connection between interior spaces and the landscape.

Clostra elements are integrated into the façade to enhance privacy while maintaining visual connection and permeability with the exterior
