Zabbougha, a picturesque village nestled in the upper mountains of Metn, stands as one of the few remaining green havens amidst Lebanon’s concrete expansion. This enchanting location features wild forests and rugged hills, encompassing a 3,000 square meter plot that showcases a harmonious blend of native vegetation and lush greenery across multiple levels.

The landscape is dominated by massive rocks that create a striking visual contrast with the indigenous plants. Scattered narrow voids weave throughout the plantations, nestled between the rocks and beneath the trees, inviting exploration and connection with nature.

The vision behind this project is to cultivate an experience that forges a deep link between humanity and the natural world—an escape from the burdens of urban life. Given the narrowness of the available spaces, the architecture has been designed as a series of elongated volumes that seamlessly occupy these voids. The proximity to shrubs and the tactile connection with the rocks are central to this vision.

ZecoLodge is a guesthouse comprising six units thoughtfully dispersed throughout the expansive greenery, fostering a dialogue with the surrounding landscape and offering visitors an immersive experience in nature. Utilizing local materials and sustainable architectural practices, ZecoLodge embodies a green ecological project that integrates beautifully with the Lebanese scenery.

A communal block serves as the main gathering area, featuring a welcoming desk and a central indoor-outdoor restaurant. A natural pond, designed as the main pool, enhances the project and adds a refreshing element to the overall experience.

Each unit is designed as a multifunctional space, combining a seating area and sleeping quarters, along with a bathroom and an intermediate space that includes a private jacuzzi, perfect for winter use. The units are fully integrated with nature, featuring expansive openings that connect residents with the vibrant native plants surrounding them.
