Residential Villa Extension, Amman — A Fragmented Urban Residence
Located in Amman, this project transforms an existing large residence into a sequence of fragmented architectural volumes organized around a central garden and pool. Rather than expanding as a single mass, the 2,000 sqm house is reimagined as a spatial journey—linking distinct wings that all converge toward the heart of the project.
Clad in local Jordanian stone, the architecture adopts a monolithic expression that conveys permanence and nobility, while fragmentation ensures a human scale and a respectful relationship with the surrounding urban context. The house unfolds gradually, allowing landscape and architecture to interlock, transforming the garden into an extension of daily life.
Vertical openings articulate areas requiring intimacy, while larger openings are strategically introduced to open living spaces toward the central pool and garden. This calibrated balance between openness and privacy defines the spatial hierarchy of the house.
Through fragmentation, material continuity, and landscape integration, the project elevates a large urban villa into a composed and contextual residential ensemble—impressive in scale, yet calm and non-oppressive in presence.
