Nestled within the classical walls of a West European-style castle in Lebanon lies a hidden gem—an extraordinary loft apartment occupying the once-forgotten attic space. This unique dwelling seamlessly blends the rich classical interior of the castle with a minimalistic aesthetic, creating an enchanting retreat unlike any other.
As you ascend the winding staircase leading to the attic, anticipation builds, and upon entering the loft, you’re greeted by an atmosphere of sophistication and innovation. The transformation from a dusty, unused space to a sleek, contemporary sanctuary is remarkable.
At the entrance, at first glance, you’re met with horizontal steps leading to the open space, offering a direct view of the core circular element
The design concept of the loft is a testament to the harmony of contrasting elements. Concrete dominates the inclined surfaces, paying homage to the castle’s sturdy structure. Its raw texture adds an industrial edge while serving as a canvas for the interplay of light and shadow.
In stark contrast, horizontal wooden accents introduce warmth and natural beauty to the space. From the hardwood floors to the exposed beams spanning the ceiling, wood infuses the loft with a sense of rustic charm.
Meanwhile, vertical surfaces are rendered in pristine white, creating an illusion of spaciousness and airiness. The walls act as a blank canvas, allowing art pieces and decorative elements to stand out, while also reflecting light to brighten the loft even on the gloomiest of days.
The layout of the loft is thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality and comfort. An open-concept living area seamlessly transitions into a sleek kitchenette with state-of-the-art appliances and minimalist cabinetry.
A cozy seating area beckons residents to unwind and relax, perhaps curled up with a good book or enjoy lively conversations with friends against a crackling fireplace.
As you step further into the loft, the master bedroom beckons with its promise of tranquility and luxury. Tucked away in the depths of the castle’s dungeon, this hidden retreat offers an unexpected juxtaposition of history and modernity.
