Project summary

Situated in Al Jubail, an industrial city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this project serves as a vital hub for both local and international industries, catering to the needs of low- and middle-class workers.

The camp is established on a 10,000 square meter plot, strategically positioned along two main roads. Designed to accommodate 3,500 workers and staff, the facility includes essential communal amenities such as a spacious assembly hall, a central restaurant and kitchen, laundry facilities, a gym, and various seating areas.

While the project could have been a purely functional housing facility, our approach prioritized the human experience. We recognized that the needs of the residents are far more significant than merely the spatial arrangement of such accommodations.

The workers’ camp features a series of separate, double-sided residential units interconnected at the ground level. A thoughtful color-coding system distinguishes different functions, creating a lively yet comfortable atmosphere for the residents.

To counteract the monotony often associated with identical housing projects, we introduced dynamic shapes and a vibrant color palette. This design strategy not only enhances the visual appeal but also guides residents through a variety of shades, colors, and forms, fostering a sense of community and individuality within the camp.
