AKL AKL: A Visionary Lebanese Architect

Born in 1976, Akl Akl graduated from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA-UOB) in 2000. He is both a practicing architect and an academic. Since 2004, Akl has taught architecture at ALBA-UOB, and in 2020 was appointed Coordinator of the Third-Year Architecture Studio — a position he continues to hold today.

A Journey of Vision & Craftsmanship

In 2004, Akl co-founded AB Architects, a design studio dedicated to contextually driven architecture. Over the next decade, the firm evolved into a multidisciplinary practice with projects spanning the Middle East and Africa.

In 2016, drawing on this experience, Akl established AKL ARCHITECTS — his independent studio — to further develop his vision of innovative, context-sensitive design.

Akl’s philosophy blends bold conceptual thinking with meticulous execution. He creates spaces that are not only functional and contextual but also rich in spatial quality — transforming architecture into an emotional experience.

AKL ARCHITECTS is a Beirut-based architectural and design consultancy with an international experience in creating innovative, functional, and context-driven spaces.
