Project summary
Located in Bkannaya, 20 minutes away from the city of Beirut, the project consists of a residential compound composed of 16 apartments, 150 square meters each, targeting young middle class clients.
The plot is part of a woodland prolonging the south and east sides, delimited by a residential compound on its north.
The site is six meters above the main road, acting like a belvedere towards what remains of the sea view in an urban context with no urban planning.
With a U shaped plan, the project is divided into two cores and four apartments in each floor benefiting of wide openings towards the view. An inner garden serves as a welcome courtyard leading the visitors into two entrances accompanied by the sound of water falling from the central portico.
Nature climbs on the metallic randomly inserted Pillars recreating a green cocoon in the reception areas, shaded by the plantations devastating the planters on the west elevation.
Black aluminum panels combined with white natural mechanically fixed stone, interact with the surrounding nature creating a landmark suspended on the cliff and facing the view.
Natural rough stone behind a metallic mesh, creates the project’s retaining walls, and unites the project to its surrounding.
