An existing villa in Khobar, KSA, needs to be modified in order to fit the occupant’s requirements and needs.

One task was to “facelift” the existent, all while inserting annex spaces to the house that would offer a renewed spatial quality to the residence.

We decided to revisit the concept of the traditional “moucharabieh” in a bid to appeal to the context while also bringing an element of innovation to the project, hence we created this steal pattern inspired by the local art.

A play on lights, shadows and the idea of filtering, to be able to create a “see but not seen” living experience all while not touching the existing structure.
